Viewster Adds Sora no Manimani to Its Anime Lineup

posted on by Jabulani Blyden
New episodes of 2009 romantic comedy available weekly

The streaming site Viewster added the 2009 anime adaptation of Mami Kashiwabara's Sora no Manimani manga to its streaming lineup. Viewster premiered the first six episodes on April 1 and has been adding one episode per week.

In the story, Saku Ōyagi is a quiet bookworm who moves back his former hometown as a high school freshman. He meets his childhood friend, Mihoshi Akeno, again, although a traumatic incident long ago had left their relationship in an awkward state of dread and high tension. However, Mihoshi brings Saku into the astronomy club she founded, and this sets the stage for the slapstick romantic comedy that ensues.

Shinji Takamatsu (Gintama, School Rumble) directed and wrote the scripts for the 12-episode anime at Studio Comet. Hajime Watanabe (Hime-chan's Ribbon, Kodocha, School Rumble) created the character designs and supervised the animation production.

Kashiwabara launched her Sora no Manimani manga series in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine in 2005, and ended it in 2011. Kodansha published 10 compiled book volumes for the series.
