The King of Fighters XIV PS4 Game's 2 Trailers Reveal August 23 U.S. Release Date

SNK Playmore announced at a press presentation at Tokyo's e-sports Square Akihabara on Monday that its The King of Fighters XIV PlayStation 4 game will ship in Japan on August 25. SNK Playmore also began streaming two English trailers on Monday for the game.

The videos reveal the new characters Nakoruru, Shun'ei, Luong, Nelson, and Sylvie Paula Paula as well as the following returning playable characters: Ryo Sakazaki, Vice, Kim Kaphwan, Athena Asamiya, Chin Gentsai, Choi, Tung, and Geese.

The videos also reveal the game's U.S. release date of August 23. SNK Playmore and Atlus USA are partnering to release the game in the Americas.

SNK Playmore also streamed a video for a "Classic Kyo" DLC costume on Monday. Those who pre-order the game will get the bonus digital item.

The game's official website additionally revealed the following playable characters: Goro Daimon, Mature, Joe Higashi, Hein, Yuri, Gang-Il, Xanadu, Mian, Zarina, Ramon, Meitenkun, Kensou, Love, and Alice. The site also lists Antonov The Tournament Master as a boss and an as-yet unrevealed final boss.

The game will feature more than 50 playable fighters, including new characters to the franchise. Previously announced characters include Mai Shiranui, Bandeiras Hattori, Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, Leona Heidern, Chang Koehan, Andy Bogard, Billy Kane, Kula, King, Angel, Ralf, K', Benimaru Nikaido, Robert Garcia, King of Dinosaurs, Maxima, Clark Still, Terry Bogard, Mui Mui, and Kukri.

Sony stated that while the game visuals will feature 3D graphics, the game keeps the classic 2D gameplay. The game will also feature new multiplayer online modes such as the Party Battle mode. This mode will feature up to six people in an online battle (three players per team).
