Crunchyroll Adds Space Patrol Luluco Manga, Live-Action Nodame Cantabile Show

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Kyatto-Ninden Teyandee anime also added to catalog

Crunchyroll announced this week that it has added Nanboku's Space Patrol Luluco manga, the Kyatto-Ninden Teyandee anime, and the live-action television adaptation of the Nodame Cantabile manga.

Crunchyroll describes the Space Patrol Luluco manga:

The super-popular on-air TV anime receives a manga serialization! Set in Ogikubo, it will give you a peek into Luluco and gang's fun daily life, 4 panels at a time!

The manga is available to Crunchyroll users worldwide except Japan. Nanboku launched the four-panel manga in Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine last month. The television anime premiered on April 1, and Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan.

Discotek licensed Kyatto-Ninden Teyandee/Samurai Pizza Cats, and it describes the series:

Join Yattaro, Skashee, and Pururun at Pizza Cats, the most popular place in Edoropolis. On the surface, they're a trio of goofball delivery cats, but their actual identity is as a Secret Ninja Trio, the Nyankees! Led by Lord Wanko, the Nyankees are tasked with keeping the scheming Lord Korn and his evil Crow Ninjas, Gennari and Karamaru, from staging a coup against the dimwitted Shogun Yetyet.

Will Korn succeed - either in politics or as a cross-dressing geisha? Does Yattaro stand a chance of winning the heart of missile girl Onmitsu? Can Pururun become the lady of her dreams? And will anybody ever figure out a way to keep Princess Usa under control before she sentences the entire city to live on the Prison Island? Who are these so-called rescue members lurking in the suburbs, how does Nekomata get away with living on Wanko's tab, what's Otama doing in charge of the restaurant, and why hasn't the Narrator appeared to explain things yet, anyways?

Needless to say, all these questions will be answered and more as hilarity and hijinks ensue in this wacky action classic!

The series is available to Crunchyroll users in the United States and Canada. The entire series is available for premium users, while only the first 27 episodes are available to free users, with the next half available next week. Crunchyroll previously added the series' Samurai Pizza Cats English-dubbed version last December.

Discotek released the series in standard definition on Blu-ray Disc on April 28. It previously released the series in a dubbed-only DVD set. It also released the original Japanese series, Kyatto-Ninden Teyandee, in a complete, uncut DVD set in Japanese with English subtitles.

Crunchyroll describes the live-action Nodame Cantabile series:

Noda Megumi, also known as Nodame, is a weird, freewheeling piano student at Momogaoka School of Music. She meets a well-to-do, elite piano student, Chiaki Shin'ichi, who aspires to become a conductor. In the time they spend studying music, playing in orchestras and practicing for competitions, the two make friends with an assortment of eccentric musicians.

The series is available to Crunchyroll users in the United States, Canada, Central and South America (including the Caribbean), South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.

The series, based on Tomoko Ninomiya's manga of the same name, premiered in 2006. The series received a two-episode special in 2008, as well as two live-action films in 2009 and 2010, respectively. The manga also inspired three television anime adaptations in 2007, 2008, and 2010, repsectively.
