5th volume of manga by Ristorante Paradiso author slated for Wednesday

A television anime adaptation of Natsume Ono's ACCA 13-Ku Kansatsu-Ka (ACCA: 13th Ward Observation Department) manga has been green-lit. Square Enix unveiled a visual for the anime on Monday as well as an official website for the anime.

The manga is set in a world separated into 13 wards, with each ward having an observation division controlled by the organization known as "ACCA." The story centers on Gene, known as the craftiest member of ACCA.

Ono launched the manga series in Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan magazine in June 2013. Square Enix shipped the manga's fourth compiled book volume last September, and will ship the fifth volume on Wednesday. The fifth volume will ship with an illustration card in selected bookstores. This year's sixth issue of Monthly Big Gangan is also shipping on the same day, and the manga will be featured on the issue's front cover. The issue will include a clear file of the manga.

Since she made her debut in 2003 with La Quinta Camera - 5 Banme no Heya, Ono's works have included House of Five Leaves, Ristorante Paradiso, Gente - Ristorante no Hitobito, Tesoro, and Not Simple. Viz Media has published all of these titles in North America. Kodansha Comics also published Ono's Danza manga in English. Other manga by Ono include her recently launched Lady and Oldman manga and the House of Five Leaves spinoff manga Kozure Dōshin.

Ono launched her historical manga series Futagashira in Shogakukan's Monthly Ikki magazine in May 2011, and continued it in Shogakukan's new magazine Hibana starting in March 2015 after Shogakukan suspended publication of Monthly Ikki. The manga will end this fall in its seventh volume.

Both Ristorante Paradiso and House of Five Leaves have been adapted into late-night television anime series in Japan. Futagashira inspired a live-action drama last year, and a second season has been green-lit.
