Animax Asia Streams Ad for Poco's Udon World Anime

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Anime premieres on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. (JKT)/8:30 p.m. (SIN/PH)

Animax Asia began streaming a commercial for its simulcast airing of the Poco's Udon World television anime on Tuesday.

Animax Asia will premiere the anime on Sunday, October 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Jakarta, and 8:30 p.m. in Singapore and the Philippines.

Animax Asia describes the anime:

After his father's death, 30-year-old Sota Tawara returns to his hometown to take over the family's udon business. To his surprise, he finds a lost child with raccoon ears and a tail sleeping inside a cooking pot. Sota becomes the caregiver for the child, Poco, and gradually learns about his secrets. A heart-warming friendship begins as the duo ventures through Kagawa, otherwise known as the “Udon Kingdom”, discovering the sights and sounds of his hometown that Sota never knew.

Seiki Takuno (Sekkō Boys, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) is directing the anime at Liden Films. Natsuko Takahashi (My Love Story!!, Moyashimon, 07-Ghost) is in charge of series composition, and Eriko Ito (Sekkō Boys, Danchigai, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) is serving as both the chief animation director and the character designer. Yukari Hashimoto (Mr. Osomatsu, Yurikuma Arashi) is composing the music and Yota Tsuruoka (Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club, K-ON!) is serving as sound director. The "piano rock band" Weaver will perform the show's opening theme song, and the four-member pop band Goodwarp will perform the ending theme song.

The anime is based on Nodoka Shinomaru's "heartwarming fantasy" manga Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari (The Udon Country's Golden Furball). Shinomaru launched the manga in Shinchosha's Comic@Bunch magazine in 2012, and Shinchosha published the manga's seventh compiled volume in February. Shinchosha will publish the eighth volume on Saturday, October 8.
