Monster Musume Gets 2nd Original Anime DVD With 12th Manga Volume

The official website for the anime adaptation of Okayado's Monster Musume manga announced on Thursday that the 12th compiled volume of the manga will bundle a second original anime DVD (OAD). The volume will ship on April 13, 2017. Pre-orders for the volume are available until February 19.

Director Tatsuya Yoshihara and writer Kazuyuki Fudeyasu will return from the television anime series and the first OAD. Lerche will animate the OAD. The OAD will adapt the 26th chapter of the manga from the manga's sixth volume, titled "Rachnera ga Inakunaru Nichijō" (Rachnera's Disappearing Everyday), and will also adapt a spinoff chapter from the manga's fourth volume.

The manga's 11th compiled volume is shipping in Japan on Saturday with the first original anime DVD. The OAD will adapt the manga's chapter 17 from the fourth volume, where Miia, Cerea, Mero, and Kurusu go to the gym's pool. Seva will animate the episode.

Three years ago, the world learned that harpies, centaurs, catgirls, and all manners of fabulous creatures are not merely fiction; they are flesh and blood - not to mention scale, feather, horn, and fang. Thanks to the "Cultural Exchange Between Species Act," these once-mythical creatures have assimilated into society, or at least, they're trying.

When a hapless human teenager named Kurusu Kimihito is inducted as a "volunteer" into the government exchange program, his world is turned upside down. A snake-like lamia named Miia comes to live with him, and it is Kurusu's job to take care of her and make sure she integrates into his everyday life.

Unfortunately for Kurusu, Miia is undeniably sexy, and the law against interspecies breeding is very strict. Even worse, when a ravishing centaur girl and a flirtatious harpy move in, what's a full-blooded teenage human with raging hormones to do?!

The 12-episode television anime adaptation premiered in July 2015. Crunchyroll and Daisuki streamed the series as it aired, and Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series for home video.

The original manga has more than 2.3 million copies in print as of February.
