First Persona 3 Movie Released Monday

Also DRAMAtical Murder, Blood Lad, Zavvi-exclusive Gurren Lagann set, eleventh Fairy Tail volume

On Monday February 13, Anime Limited will release Persona 3 the Movie #1 Spring of Birth, as both a Blu-ray/DVD set and a DVD. The film, which is the first of four, adapts Atlus' Persona 3 PlayStation 2 game. In the game's story, there is a hidden time known as the "Dark Hour" that exists between one day and the next when all movement in the town stops. During this time, terrible creatures called Shadows roam, and a group of high school students in the city of Iwatodai are drawn into the Dark Hour to fight these creatures and explore the mysterious tower of Tartarus. This group uses weapons called Evokers that are used to summon Personas.

Noriaki Akitaya (three Bakuman. series) directed the film at AIC A.S.T.A. with Seiji Kishi (Persona 4 The Animation, Devil Survivor 2 The Animation, Angel Beats!) supervising. Jun Kumagai (Aura: Maryūinkōga Saigo no Tatakai, episodes of Persona 4 The Animation) wrote the screenplay, and Keisuke Watabe (Crest of the Stars, Banner of the Stars) served as character designer and animation director. Shoji Meguro (Persona 4 The Animation) composed the music.

Manga Entertainment will release DRAMAtical Murder as a a DVD/Combi pack. The anime adapts Nitro+CHiRAL's boys-love adventure game. The game's story centers on a young man named Aoba who lives with his grandmother on the island Midorijima. He works at a junk shop in the island's Former Residents District after Toue builds the Platinum Jail resort on part of Midorijima and forces residents to move. Aoba is content with his simple life but gets pulled into mysterious events unfolding on the island.

Anime Limited will release a new Blu-ray edition of Blood Lad. This dark comedy anime adapts Yūki Kodama's manga that follows a vampire named Staz who has his figurative heart stolen by Fuyumi, a human high school girl who suddenly appears in his world. Unfortunately, she is just as suddenly killed, and thus she becomes a ghost. Staz tries to bring Fuyumi back to life.

In addition, Anime Limited is releasing a title exclusive to the Zavvi website, a Gurren Lagann TV series and Movie Collection Blu-ray set. It will include the TV series; the films Gurren Lagann the Movie –Childhood's End- and Gurren Lagann the Movie – The Lights in the Sky Are Stars; and also Gurren Lagann Parallel Works.

Funimation will release Fairy Tail Collection 11, carrying episodes 121 to 131.
