The official website for the King of Prism: PRIDE the HERO anime film announced on Friday that the film will get 4DX screenings at 52 Japanese theaters beginning on August 26. The film will open in Hong Kong on the same day, and then in Taiwan on September 1.

With the 4DX or MX4D systems, certain theaters have motion seats that move in sync with certain action sequences onscreen. Similarly, effects such as scents, wind, and mist will operate in accordance with the action onscreen. The first King of Prism film, KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm, also had 4DX screenings in 26 theaters.

Effects for the King of Prism: PRIDE the HERO include water from a bath scene, the seats shaking when George cracks a whip, a gust of wind when Taiga swings a fan, and the smell of gunpowder when a bomb drops.

King of Prism: PRIDE the HERO opened on June 10 and sold 47,000 tickets to earn 82 million yen (about US$746,000) in its opening weekend. The anime debuted at #7 at the box office and fell off the top 10 box office chart in its second weekend. As of July 5, the film has earned more than 300 million yen at the box office.

Masakazu Hishida, who directed various Pretty Rhythm anime series, as well as the KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm film, returned to direct King of Prism: PRIDE the HERO at Tatsunoko Production. Jou Aoba (Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream episode director) also returned to write the script. Mai Matsuura was again credited with the original character designs and character designs.
