Bandai Namco Entertainment's website for Summer Lesson Shinjo Chisato: Shichiyō no Etude, the new installment of Bandai Namco Entertainment's Summer Lesson virtual reality game series, revealed more details on the game on Thursday.
The heroine Chisato Shinjo is a rich lady with short, black hair, and is more willful than the previous two heroines. The character was mentioned briefly in Summer Lesson: Allison Snow as living in a Western-style mansion. In the game, players take on the role of her tutor to teach Chisato about common knowledge of modern society, such as how to use a computer and how to enjoy manga and video games.
The base game will launch on October 12 for 2,980 yen (US$27). The game will have four additional content packs at unspecified future dates. A "deluxe edition" of the game with the base game, the four DLC packs, and a limited bonus retails for 8,320 yen (US$77). A "DLC set pass" purchase of the four DLC packs and the limited bonus retails for 5,340 yen (US$50). The four DLC packs include two packs with additional experience content, and two packs with a new costume and situation.
Bandai Namco Entertainment released the original Summer Lesson game last October 13 in Japan to coincide with the release of the PlayStation VR. The game won a special award in the PlayStation VR category of the PlayStation Awards 2016 in December. Before its release, the project was used as a demonstration of the PlayStation VR.
The game allows players to interact with a Japanese girl named Hikari Miyamoto. Bandai Namco Entertainment released an add-on pack for the game in December titled Summer Lesson: Miyamoto Hikari Second Feel that added six outfits for Hikari and situations in which players "feel they are actually touching the character in front of them."
The Summer Lesson: Allison Snow sequel launched for PlayStation 4 on June 22. The player takes on the role of a teacher who spends seven days with a girl named Allison Snow to teach her Japanese. The character first appeared in a 2015 demo trailer.
