Hobby Japan's The Seven Heavenly Virtues Franchise Gets Anime in Winter 2018

Fairy Tail's Shinji Ishihira directs series at Bridge

Hobby Japan announced on Friday that its The Seven Heavenly Virtues (Nanatsu no Bitoku) multimedia project is getting a television anime adaptation that will premiere in winter 2018. The project is connected to Hobby Japan's Seven Mortal Sins (sin Nanatsu no Taizai) multimedia franchise.

In the show's story, the "Seven Mortal Sins," demons from hell, have pressed forward and have started to spread their plague. Heaven is in chaos, and the angels of the "Seven Heavenly Virtues" are sent to Earth to search for a candidate to become the "true messiah."

Shinji Ishihira (Fairy Tail, Log Horizon, Heybot!) is directing the anime at the studio Bridge. Niθ is credited with the original character designs, and Masanori Iizuka (animation director for Dog Days, Fairy Tail) is the character designer, prop designer, and chief animation director.

The official Twitter account for the anime will also start serializing a manga by zunta starting on December 1.

The 12-episode Seven Mortal Sins anime premiered on April 14. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and Funimation streamed the series with an English dub.
