Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody Anime Reveals More of Cast, January 11 Debut

Wake Up, Girls! voice actresses Airi Eino, Kiyono Yasuno join cast

The official website for the television anime of Hiro Ainana and shri's Death March to The Parallel World Rhapsody (Death March Kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyōsōkyoku) light novel series revealed additional cast members and the January 11 premiere date on Tuesday.

The newly announced cast members are:

Wake Up, Girls! idol group member Airi Eino as Misanalia "Mia" Boruenan

Wake Up, Girls! voice actress Kiyono Yasuno as Nana

The anime also stars:

Shun Horie (Fastest Finger First's Shiki Koshiyama, The Idolm@ster SideM's Pierre) as protagonist Satō/Ichirō Suzuki


Rie Takahashi (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-'s Emilia, KONOSUBA's Megumin) as Zena


Hiyori Kono (background characters in Love Tyrant, Anonymous Noise) as Pochi


Kaya Okuno (Wake Up, Girls!'s Kaya) as Tama


Minami Tsuda (Wake Up, Girls!'s Megumi Yoshikawa) as Liza


Aoi Yūki (Madoka Magica's Madoka, My Hero Academia's Tsuyu) as Arisa


Marika Hayase (Idol Memories' Sena Hattori, Venus Project: Climax's Miu Nureha) as Lulu

The anime will premiere on January 11 at 11:30 p.m. on the AT-X channel, and then it will run on the Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and BS11 channels.

Shin Oonuma (Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, ef: a tale of melodies, No-Rin) is directing the series at SILVER LINK. (Brave Witches, Non Non Biyori) and CONNECT (Armed Girl's Machiavellism, Chaos Dragon). Kento Shimoyama (Bleach, Gintama, Servant × Service) is writing and overseeing the series scripts, and Shoko Takimoto (Armed Girl's Machiavellism, Chaos Dragon) is designing the characters for animation. MONACA is composing the music at DIVE II Entertainment.

The Run Girls, Run! group is performing the opening theme song "Slide Ride," and the Wake Up, Girls! group is performing the ending theme song "Suki no Skill." Both groups are the real-life idol groups who also voice roles in the Wake Up, Girls! New Chapter anime.

The story of the light novel series follows a 29-year-old programmer who is on a "death march," but one day he wakes up in another world after a nap. From a meteor shower he happens to gain vast riches, and he decides to go sightseeing. So begins his "heartwarming, occasionally serious, and harem" adventure in another world.

Ainana initially began posting the series online in 2013, and Kadokawa published the first volume with illustrations by shri in in March 2014. The novel series has 1.1 million copies in print as of July. Both the 11th volume of the novel series and fifth volume of the manga adaptation shipped on August 10.

Megumu Aya began the manga adaptation of Ainana's novels in Kadokawa's Age Premium magazine, but the series moved to Monthly Dragon Age when Age Premium ceased publication in July 2015.

Yen Press is releasing the original light novel series and the manga adaptation.
