Kunoichi Tsubaki no Mune no Uchi centers on ace student with secret curiosity

The February issue of Shogakukan's Gessan (Monthly Shonen Sunday) magazine launched a new manga series by Sōichirō Yamamoto titled Kunoichi Tsubaki no Mune no Uchi (Inside Tsubaki Kunoichi's Heart) on Friday.

The magazine's previous issue teased the plot as centering on the titular Tsubaki Kunoichi, the best student in her school, and a curiosity that she cannot reveal.

Yamamoto also serializes the Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san manga in Gessan. Yamamoto launched the manga in Gessan mini, the accompanying booklet to the main Gessan magazine, in 2013. After Yamamoto finished serializing his Fudatsuki no Kyōko-chan manga in Gessan in June 2016, Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san moved to Gessan that July. Shogakukan published the manga's seventh volume on December 15, and the eighth volume is slated for February 9. Yen Press has licensed the manga under the title Teasing Master Takagi-san.

Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san is inspiring a currently-airing anime that premiered on Monday. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan, and Funimation will offer an English dub. Stories from Yamamoto's Ashita wa Doyōbi manga are also being adapted as segments of the anime.
