Yuna Kagesaki's The Witch's House Manga Ends

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Manga launched last June, Yen Press simultaneously publishing manga digitally

The March issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Dragon Age magazine published the ninth and final chapter of Yuna Kagesaki's The Witch's House - The Diary of Ellen manga on Friday. The manga's second and final compiled book volume is slated for May.

The manga is based on the Majo no Ie - Ellen no Nikki (The Witch's House - The Diary of Ellen) novel that author and game creator Fummy released as a prequel to the creator's own Majo no Ie (The Witch's House) horror puzzle game. The original game casts players in the role of Viola, a girl who wakes up in the middle of a forest, where a path of roses leads her to the house of a witch named Ellen. She enters the house, and must find a way out again. The prequel novel centers on the story of how Ellen became a witch.

The manga launched in Monthly Dragon Age magazine last June. Kadokawa published the manga's first compiled book volume last December. Yen Press began simultaneously publishing the manga digitally last August.

The original free game launched for PC in October 2012 and Kadokawa published the novel with illustrations by Oguchi in October 2013. The game's website links to an English translation for both the game and the novel.

Manga publisher Tokyopop licensed Kagesaki's Chibi Vampire and AiON manga in North America, and released all of Chibi Vampire and AiON's first three compiled volumes before shutting down its North American manga publishing division in May 2011. Viz Media began releasing Chibi Vampire on the Amazon Kindle store in 2014. Chibi Vampire inspired the Karin television anime in 2005.
