posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Series of 1-minute shorts to have 26 episodes

Daiichi Kosho Company and karaoke company DAM Tomo announced on Thursday that Yoshiyasu's Kuroneko Monroe (Black cat Monroe) essay manga is inspiring a television anime that will premiere in April.

Daiichi Kosho and DAM Tomo are hosting auditions from February 19 through March 5 for a voice actor or actress to play the character Zunguri. Emi Nitta will voice the titular character Monroe.

The anime will have 26 episodes, with each episode being one minute long. The anime will air on Chūkyō TV and other channels.

The essay manga follows the black cat Monroe and the human Yoppy and their "normal and special everyday lives." Gentosha published the book in May 2015.

The essay manga has inspired a line of LINE stamps in both Japanese and English.
