Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Gekkō, Beltorchika's Children Manga End in March

The April issue of Kadokawa's Gundam Ace magazine revealed on Monday that writer Hajime Kamoshida and artists Dango and Hirosuke Terama's Mobile Suit Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans Gekkō spinoff manga, as well as Uroaki Sabishi's Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack Beltorchika's Children manga, will both end in the magazine's next issue on March 26. The issue on March 26 will feature the Mobile Suit Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans Gekkō manga's epilogue.

The fourth and final compiled book volume of Mobile Suit Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans Gekkō will ship on April 26, while the seventh and final volume of Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack Beltorchika's Children will ship this summer.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans Gekkō launched in Gundam Ace in April 2016, and it received a second "season" last June. Kadokawa published the manga's third volume last October.

Kazuma Isobe's main Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans manga adapts the anime of the same title, and Anime Consortium Japan (ACJ) describes Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans:

There was once a great conflict known as the "Calamity War." Roughly 300 years have passed since the end of this war.

The Earth Sphere had lost its previous governing structure, and a new world was created under new systems of government. While a temporary peace had arrived, the seeds of a new conflict were being sown in the Mars Sphere, far away from Earth.

Our hero, a boy named Mikazuki Augus, belongs to a private security company called Chryse Guard Security (CGS). The company accepts a mission to escort Kudelia Aina Bernstein, a girl who seeks to liberate the Martian city of Chryse from the rule of one of Earth's major powers. However, the military organization Gjallarhorn attacks CGS in order to nip this rebellion in the bud. CGS begins an evacuation, using Mikazuki and the other children as decoys.

Orga Itsuka, the leader of the boys, decides to take this opportunity to rise up in revolt and launch a coup d'état against the adults who have been oppressing them. He gives Mikazuki the task of repulsing Gjallarhorn, and Mikazuki enters battle using the Gundam Barbatos, a mobile suit from the Calamity War era which has been serving as CGS's power source.

The manga launched in Gundam Ace in October 2015, and Kadokawa published the manga's second volume last October.

The television anime's first season premiered in 2015, and the second season premiered in 2016. Daisuki, Gundam.info, and Hulu streamed the first season as it aired, and Crunchyroll streamed both seasons, and also streamed an English dub. Toonami began airing the first season with an English dub in June 2016, and debuted the second season in October.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack Beltorchika's Children is based on Yoshiyuki Tomino's novel of the same name. The story is an alternative take on the events that also form the core story of Tomino's 1988 anime film, Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack. (This novel actually debuted in print a month before the film.) In both, Amuro Ray and Char Aznable (the protagonist and antagonist from the first Mobile Suit Gundam anime) clash in their final confrontation.

However, the novel and the film have significant differences, such as Amuro and Char piloting Hi-Nu Gundam and Nightingale mobile suits instead of the movie's Nu Gundam and Sazabi. Yutaka Izubuchi designed both the mobile suits in the novel and the anime.

The manga launched in Gundam Ace in June 2014, and Kadokawa published the manga's sixth volume on Monday.

Sabishi posted a picture of the sixth volume on Thursday, which reveals that the manga has 500,000 copies in print.
