Naomi Ōzora, Chiaki Omigawa star in July show from Rosario + Vampire director

The teaser website for the television anime of Tadataka Kawasaki's Chio's School Road (Chio-chan no Tsūgakuro) manga opened and unveiled the main cast, additional staff members, and a teaser visual on Monday:

The cast stars:

  • Naomi Ōzora as Chio Miyamo (left in visual above), a first-year high school student at Samejima Academy. She is a hardcore PC gamer who loves overseas games and despises Japanese games.
  • Chiaki Omigawa as Manana Nonomura (right in visual above), Chio's childhood friend who is also a first-year student at Samejima Academy.
  • Kaede Hondo as Yuki Hosokawa, Chio's cute, bright, pleasant, popular classmate who ranks #1 in the school clique system
  • Yō Taichi as Madoka Kushitori, a third-year Samejima Academy student and the captain of the Kabaddi team. She loves the sport of Kabaddi and has large breasts.

Takayuki Inagaki (Rosario + Vampire, First Love Monster) is directing the anime at diomedéa and supervising the series scripts. Mayuko Matsumoto (Kan Colle, Gingitsune, Handa-kun) is designing the characters.

The anime has been delayed from an April premiere to a July premiere.

The "dramatic extreme going to school comedy" manga follows the titular female high school student Chio Miyamo, and her adventures to commute to school every day. Chio runs in to problems both big and small, such as construction, a biker gang, a sudden urge to use the bathroom, and more.

Kawasaki launched the manga in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Flapper magazine in 2014, and Kadokawa will publish the manga's eighth compiled volume on March 23. The manga won the "Flapper Award" at the ninth "MF Comics Awards."

Digital Manga's Project-H imprint published Kawasaki's I'm Coming with You! adult manga in English in 2014.
