Wolf Girl & Black Prince's Ayuko Hatta Starts New Series

Haibara-kun wa Gokigen Naname manga centers on boy, girl who can't get along

The May issue of Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine revealed on Friday that Ayuko Hatta will launch a new manga titled Haibara-kun wa Gokigen Naname (Haibara's in a Bad Mood) in the magazine's next issue on May 11. The magazine teased the manga's story as centering on Mio, a girl who is treated as her class' mascot, who gets to know a transfer student named Haibara, who doesn't like her. The new manga will be featured on the next issue's cover, and will have a color opening page. The first chapter will have 63 pages.

Hatta launched her Wolf Girl & Black Prince manga in Bessatsu Margaret in 2011, and ended it in May 2016. Shueisha published the manga's 16th and final compiled book volume in the same month. As of May 2016, the manga has 5.4 million copies in print.

The manga inspired a television anime in 2014, as well as a live-action film, which opened in Japan in May 2016. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks released the series in North America in March 2016.

Hatta launched her Bye Bye Liberty manga in Bessatsu Margaret in September 2016, and ended it last December. Shueisha published the manga's fourth and final compiled book volume on February 23.
