Space Battleship Tiramisu Anime Gets 2nd Season in October

Video teases story of main character sightseeing in Japan

The official website for the television anime of Satoshi Miyakawa and artist Kei Itō's Uchū Senkan Tiramisu (Space Battleship Tiramisu) manga announced on Tuesday that the anime will get a second season in October. The website shared a preview video with a visual illustrated by character designer Ai Yokoyama.

The visual shows Subaru and Isuzu sightseeing in Nagoya. In the video, Subaru chides Isuzu for taking a photo while he wasn't ready and asks him not to send it to their father. The tagline in the video reads, "Idiot brothers go to Earth."

A preview screening for the second season will be held on September 29 at Nissho Hall in Tokyo.

The anime premiered on April 2. Crunchyroll streamed the 13-episode first series as it aired in Japan, and Funimation is streaming an English dub.

Hiroshi Ikehata (Robot Girls Z, Seiyu's Life!) directed the anime, Yū Satō handled the series composition, and Ai Yokoyama (Bayonetta: Bloody Fate) designed the characters. Studio Gonzo provided the animation.

The science fiction gag comedy follows the everyday life of Subaru Ichinose, the ace pilot of the space battleship "Tiramisu." Since he cannot get used to being surrounded by older pilots, Subaru shuts himself in the cockpit of his personal ship "Durandal."

Writer Miyakawa (Haha o Nakushita Toki, Boku wa Ikotsu o Tabetai to Omotta.) and artist Itō launched the ongoing manga on Shinchosha's Kurage Bunch website in October 2015.
