A Certain Magical Index Season 3 Announces More Cast

The official website for A Certain Magical Index III, the third television anime season based on Kazuma Kamachi's A Certain Magical Index light novel series, announced additional cast members on Sunday.

The newly announced cast members (with character designs where available) are:

Masaya Matsukaze as Teitoku Kakine
Yōko Soumi as Elizard

Mari Hino as Riméa
Kei Shindō as Carissa
Sayaka Harada as Villian
Takehito Koyasu as Knight Leader
Toshiyuki Morikawa as Fiamma
Yumi Hara as Suama Oyafune

Mika Doi as Monaka Oyafune

Returning cast members include Atsushi Abe as Toma Kamijo, Yuka Iguchi as Index, Rina Satō as Mikoto Misaka, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Accelerator, and Satoshi Hino as Shiage Hamazura.

Hiroshi Nishikiori, the director of the first two seasons, is returning to direct the third season at J.C. Staff. Hiroyuki Yoshino is returning from the A Certain Magical Index: The Miracle of Endymion film to supervise the series' scripts. Yūichi Tanaka is also returning from the first two seasons to adapt Kiyotaka Haimura's original character designs for animation.

All of the additional staff are returning from previous A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun anime, except for Takayuki Yamaguchi.

Maon Kurosaki performs the opening theme song "Gravitation." The song will go on sale digitally on October 5 at 24:00 (October 6 at midnight). Kurosaki previously performed the "Magic∞world" and "Memories Last" ending theme songs for A Certain Magical Index II. Yuka Iguchi, who also voices Index in the franchise, performs the ending theme song "Kakumei Zenya" (Eve of the Revolution). The CD single with the ending theme will go on sale on November 21.

The anime will premiere on October 5 on AT-X (10:00 p.m.), Tokyo MX (12:30 a.m., effectively October 6 morning), and BS11 (12:30 a.m., effectively October 6 morning). It will then premiere on October 6 on MBS (3:30 a.m., effectively October 7 morning).

Kamachi's light novel series has inspired two television anime series, a 2013 anime film, and multiple manga adaptations. A Certain Scientific Railgun spinoff manga has also inspired two television anime adaptations and an original video anime (OVA).

Yen Press is releasing the original light novel series in English, and Funimation has released all of the anime adaptations in North America outside of the A Certain Scientific Railgun OVA. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the A Certain Scientific Railgun manga and the A Certain Scientific Accelerator manga in English, and Yen Press is releasing the A Certain Magical Index manga in English.

Dengeki Bunko editor Kazuma Miki announced the third season as part of the "A Certain Project 2018" (2018-Nen To Aru Project) at the "Dengeki Bunko Aki no Saiten 2017" (Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2017) event last October. He also said that the project is "not just Index."
