Detroit Metal City's Wakasugi Ends Rhyming Man Manga in 3 Chapters

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Manga about boy who takes father's place in rap battle launched in May 2017

This year's 21st issue of Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine revealed on Friday that Kiminori Wakasugi will end his Rhyming Man manga in three chapters. If there are no delays, the manga will end on December 7.

The manga's story centers on Fumio, a high school student who hates rap. When his father, who is a rapper, is injured and cannot attend a rap battle event, Fumio decides to take his place.

Wakasugi launched the manga in Young Animal in May 2017. Hakusensha published the manga's second compiled book volume on April 27, and will ship the third volume on October 29.

Wakasugi ended his Detroit Metal City manga in 2010, and Viz Media published the manga in North America. The manga inspired both a live-action movie and an original video anime.

Wakasugi launched his All Esper Dayo! manga in 2009, and ended it in 2015. The manga inspired a live-action television series, a special, a film, and a web series.
