Good Smile Company Establishes Investment Firm

Japanese figure, toy, and accessory manufacturer Good Smile Company announced on December 11 that it established a new investment firm named Good Smile Partners in November. The firm will invest in contents, creators, artists, and research to raise the overall value of the company's business. This will include projects that aim towards "the future of entertainment."
Good Smile Company board member Gentarō Iwasa will be the representative director of the new firm.
Good Smile Company is best known for its Nendoroid series of figures and its figma series of action figures. The company established the Good Smile Shanghai subsidiary in 2011 as its sales company in China, and also established the Los Angeles-based Ultra Tokyo Connection company in 2014 for North American sales. It recently opened new Shangha-based subsidiary named Good Smile Arts Shanghai to develop and produce original Chinese products through character licenses.
