The official website for the television anime of Hiroyuki Kanno's Kono Yo no Hate de Koi o Utau Shōjo YU-NO (YU-NO: A girl who chants love at the bound of this world.) visual novel revealed the main visual, returning case, and theme song artists on Thursday.

The cast returning from the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita remake of the original game includes:

  • Ari Ozawa as Yu-No
  • Maaya Uchida as Kanna Hatano
  • Saori Ōnishi as Mitsuki Ichijō

Asaka will perform the opening theme song "Kono Yo no Hate de Koi o Utau Shōjo" (A girl who chants love at the bound of this world), and Konomi Suzuki will perform the ending theme song "Shinri no Kagami, Ken no Yō ni" (Mirror of Truth, Like a Sword).

The anime will premiere in April and run for 26 episodes over the course of half a year (or two cours).

Tetsuo Hirakawa (Grimoire of Zero) is directing the anime, and Mai Otsuka (This Art Club Has a Problem!, Shakugan no Shana) is designing the characters. Studio feel. is producing the animation, and GENCO is producing. Newly announced staff members include:

Director Hirakawa previously said that the anime will depict all the characters and all the routes from the original game. While the game unfolded from the first-person perspective of the protagonist Takuya, the anime will also depict the relationships of the girls around Takuya. Hirakawa vowed that the anime "will outdo the game in dirty jokes," that Mio "will be even more tsundere," and that Kanna "will be even more mysterious."

The companies first announced the project in December 2016.

The original, critically acclaimed 1996 game for the PC-98 computer platform inspired the four-part 1998-1999 adult anime YU-NO. 5pb. then released the game for the Sega Saturn in 1997 and for Windows PC in 2000. MAGES. and 5pb. Games' Kono Yo no Hate de Koi o Utau Shōjo YU-NO remake shipped for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan in March 2017. A remake is slated for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam in 2019. The game will also get a Nintendo Switch version this year.
