Kono Oto Tomare! Anime's Latest Promo Reveals Casting of Nana Mizuki, Natsuki Hanae

Tetsuo Kanao, Ayaka Asai also cast in Spring anime about traditional Japanese music club

An advance screening for the television anime of Amyū's Kono Oto Tomare! (Stop This Sound!) manga announced more cast members on Sunday. The latest 140-second promotional video also announced the additional cast, and features the ending theme song "Speechless" by Yūma Uchida:

Tetsuo Kanao as Gen Kudō, Chika's grandfather

Natsuki Hanae as Takeru Kurata, Takezō's little brother

Ayaka Asai as Mashiro, Takezō's sempai who was in the koto club until her graduation

Nana Mizuki as Isaki Kudō, Chika's aunt and Gen's daughter

In the story, Takezō is the last remaining member of the koto club, a club dedicated to the traditional Japanese string instrument. If he doesn't find new members, the koto club will be terminated. One day, Takezō is alone in the club room when a student barges in and demands to join. The student is delinquent Chika Kudō, a boy who even scares delinquent upperclassmen at other schools.

The show stars:

Ryōma Mizuno is serving as the series director at Platinum Vision (Saiyuki Reload Blast, Servamp, Devils' Line). Ayumu Hisao (Devils' Line, Sword Oratoria: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side) is both writing and overseeing the scripts, Junko Yamanaka (ReLIFE, Servamp) is the character designer, and Toshimitsu Kobayashi (Spice and Wolf II, Aoharu x Machinegun) is the sub-character designer. Yamanaka and Kobayashi are also both serving as chief animation directors, and Hideaki Oba is the adviser.

Shōta Aoi will perform the anime's opening theme song "Tone," and Yūma Uchida will perform the anime's ending song "Speechless."

The anime will air for two cours or two quarters of a year; the series will air the first half in April, and then the second half will premiere in October. The show will premiere on Tokyo MX and BS11 on April 6 at 25:00 (effectively April 7 at 1:00 am.), and will air a few days later on WOWOW.

Amyū launched the manga in Jump SQ. in August 2012.
