Debuted as Vocaloid producer in 2009, debuted in Hitorie in 2011

The official website for the band Hitorie announced on Monday that the band's vocalist and guitarist wowaka passed away last Friday, April 5 due to heart failure. He was 31. His family and relatives held a private funeral.

The band has canceled its planned Japan concert tour, as well as appearances at other events. The announcement noted that the band has not yet determined its future activities, but that the band's remaining three members will continue to make music.

The musician wowaka debuted as a music producer making music primarily with the Hatsune Miku Vocaloid software in 2009. He posted the "Gray Zone ni te" (In the Gray Zone) song in May 2009. He quickly became a noted Vocaloid producer, with such famed songs as "Ura-Omote Lovers," "Zureteiku," "Rolling Girl," "World's End Dancehall," and "Unhappy Refrain." He released his Unhappy Refrain album containing his various Vocaloid songs in 2011, and other Vocaloid song compilation album releases have featured some of his songs. He also wrote and composed the "And I'm Home" song for Puella Magi Madoka Magica, which featured as the ending song in the anime's ninth episode. He also founded the Ballroom record label for Vocaloid producers.

He joined the Hitorie band and debuted in 2011. The band released four singles and four studio albums, as well as three mini-albums. The band performed the opening theme song for the Divine Gate anime, and performed the seventh ending theme song for the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime.

The musician returned to produce another Vocaloid song titled "Unknown Mother Goose" in 2017.
