Ride Your Wave and Live-Action Kakegurui Screenings in February and March

The 2020 Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme is underway. There will be screenings of Masaaki Yuasa's anime film Ride Your Wave at the venues listed below.

Masaaki Yuasa directed Ride Your Wave at his Science SARU studio. Reiko Yoshida (Lu over the wall, A Silent Voice, Liz and the Blue Bird) wrote the film's script, and Michiru Oshima (Patema Inverted, The Night is Short Walk On, Girl) composed the music. The film is about a woman, Hinako, who moves to a coastal town. She loves surfing, and when she's on the waves she's fearless. When a fire wreaks havoc in the town, Hinako encounters the young firefighter Minato.

The touring programme also includes screenings of the live-action film of Homura Kawamoto and Tōru Naomura's Kakegurui - Compulsive Gambler manga. It is being shown at the following venues:
