Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory and Fire Force Released Monday

On Monday May 4, Anime Limited will release the 1990-1992 OVA series Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory as a Collectors Blu-ray.

The set contains the 13-part series as well as the compilation film Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: The Afterglow of Zeon. (The series will be dubbed and subtitled; the film is subtitled only.) The set will also include the animated shorts Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory - The Mayfly of Space 1 (Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory - Sora no Kagerō) and Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory - The Mayfly of Space 2 (Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory - Sora no Kagerō 2), which deal with the background of a particular character.

The set will also include five art cards and a poster.

Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory takes place in the Universal Century timeline of the original Mobile Suit Gundam series. Anime Limited describes the story:

"Universal Century 0083. Having triumphed in the One-Year War, the Earth Federation has grown complacent, while the last remnants of Zeon forces have been planning one final stand. It all hinges on ace Zeon pilot Anavel Gato stealing one of the new prototype Gundams out from under the Federation's nose."

The series was directed by Mitsuko Kase (She, The Ultimate Weapon) and Takashi Imanishi (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin). Mechanical Styling is credited to Shōji Kawamori (Macross Plus) and Character Design to Toshihiro Kawamoto (Cowboy Bebop, Wolf’s Rain, Blood Blockade Battlefront).

Manga Entertainment will release the first volume of Fire Force on Blu-ray and DVD, carrying the first 12 episodes of the series. Kodansha, which publishes the manga, describes the story:

"Terror has paralyzed the clockwork metropolis of Tokyo! Possessed by demons, people have begun to burst into flame, leading to the establishment of a special firefighting team: the Fire Force, ready to roll on a moment's notice to fight spontaneous combustion anywhere it might break out. The team is about to get a very unique addition: Shinra, a boy who possesses the unique power to run at the speed of a rocket, leaving behind the famous "devil's footprints" (and destroying his shoes in the process). Can the Fire Force discover the source of this strange phenomenon and put a stop to it? Or will the city burn to ashes first?"

Yuki Yase (Mekaku City Actors, Hidamari Sketch × Honeycomb) directed the anime at david production (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Cells at Work!). Yamato Haishima was in charge of the series scripts, and Hideyuki Morioka (Kizumonogatari, Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei) designed the characters.

Manga Entertainment will also release Black Clover Season 2 Part 1 in Blu-ray and DVD, carrying episodes 52 to 63.
