MVM Comments on Yuuna and the Hot Springs

posted on by Andrew Osmond
November Blu-ray release will not include the OVAs

MVM Entertainment has Tweeted the following message regarding its upcoming release of Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs, which is scheduled to be released on Blu-ray on November 2.

"Just to give everyone an update regarding our upcoming release of Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs. Unfortunately the OVAs were bundled with the manga volumes and as such wouldn't be covered with the TV series license. We only received materials for episodes 1 to 12.

"In regards to uncensored/uncut our materials were the same as the Japanese BD release, but ultimately it's down to what the BBFC deems worthy of needing removed."

MVM summarised the story:

"Kogarashi Fuyuzora is a hands on psychic. Ever since the day he got possessed by an evil ghost, he has been burdened with debt. Needing a cheap room to rent, he winds up at a haunted hot springs inn, Yuragi Inn, where only incredibly beautiful girls reside. Amongst the residents is a ghost, Yuuna, who cannot move on to the spirit world. Despite the resistance from the current tenants that are all girls, Kogarashi manages to start his new life at Yuragi Inn."

Tsuyoshi Nagasawa (Clockwork Planet, Nyaruko: Crawling with Love!, MM!) directed the series at XEBEC. Kyoko Taketani (key animator for Negima!, To Love Ru: Darkness) was the character designer and Hideaki Koyasu (Lance N' Masques, Three Leaves, Three Colors, GJ Club) handled the series composition. The manga launched in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2016.
