Kana Mafune's On Air Dekinai! Manga Gets TV Anime in January 2022

TV Tokyo announced on Tuesday that Kana Mafune's On Air Dekinai! (We Can't Go On Air!) and On Air Dekinai! Deep essay manga are getting a television anime adaptation that will premiere on BS-TV Tokyo, TV Tokyo, and AT-X in January 2022.
The anime will star:
- Yō Taichi as Mafuneko
- Yasuhiro Mamiya as Director Onigawara
- Riho Sugiyama as Yori-chan
- Yūya Hirose as Chief AD Yokoyama
Jun Aoki (Gal & Dino, Pop Team Epic, Ore, Tsushima) is directing and overseeing the series scripts at Jinnan Studio and Space Neko Company. Junpei Yamada is composing the music at Warlock with cooperation by TV Tokyo Music. Yuusuke Inada is in charge of sound effects. Izuki Minato will perform the ending theme song.
The story takes place in 2014 and follows Mafuneko, a new hire at the "Tokyo Hajikko Television" company. The manga follows the hard struggles behind the scenes at making television content.
The author Mafune is a current member of the BS-TV Tokyo organization, and part of the essay manga details their time working at TV Tokyo. The first manga launched in 2017 and the sequel On Air Dekinai! Deep launched in 2020.
