Manga Artist Eldo Yoshimizu Will Have Signing at London's Forbidden Planet on Saturday

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Signing session from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Yoshimizu's manga include Hen Kai Pan, Ryuko and Gamma Draconis

The manga artist Eldo Yoshimizu will be at a signing at London's Forbidden Planet shop on Saturday June 11, from 1 p.m. to 3p.m.

Yoshimizu's manga include the ecology-themed Hen Kai Pan; Ryuko, about a vengeful Yakuza woman; and Gamma Draconis, about an occult researcher facing dark forces.

From the Forbidden Planet website:

"Eldo Yoshimizu was born in 1965 in Tokyo. Having specialised in sculpture while studying at the University of Arts in Tokyo, he has installed numerous works in public space... Exhibitions in Japan as well as throughout Asia and in New York led him in 1994 to a scholarship as "Artist in Residence" in New York. In 2003 he realised the work "First Light" for the art and exhibition space of the Louis Vuitton branch in Omotesando [in Tokyo]. With the feeling of having satisfied his hunger in the field of contemporary fine art, he turned to Gekiga and began to focus on the interplay of object and space in the art of storytelling. He also works as a photographer and as a musician."
