Netflix India Streams 2nd Seasons of BASTARD!!, By the Grace of the Gods, In Another World With My Smartphone Anime

Netflix is listing the following anime seasons for release in India:

  • The second season of the new anime of Kazushi Hagiwara's Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- action manga titled BASTARD!! Ankoku no Hakaishin: Jigoku no Chinkonka-hen (BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- Requiem of Hell Arc) on July 31.

  • The second season of the anime of author Roy and illustrator Ririnra's By the Grace of the Gods (Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko) light novel series on August 1.

  • The second season of the television anime of Patora Fuyuhara's In Another World With My Smartphone (Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni.) light novel series on August 11.

The first part of Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-, consisting of the first 13 episodes, debuted on Netflix last June worldwide including India. The second part featuring episodes 14-24 premiered on Netflix on September 15.

Hagiwara launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1988. The series has since had irregular serialization in the magazine and later in Ultra Jump starting in 2001. Shueisha published the manga's 27th compiled book volume in March 2012, and the series has over 30 million copies in circulation. Viz Media had released the manga in English, but stopped publishing the series with the 19th volume. The company cancelled its release of the 20th volume in English.

The manga inspired a six-episode original video anime (OVA) in 1992-1993. Geneon Entertainment (also known as Pioneer) released the anime on home video.

The second season of By the Grace of the Gods premiered on Tokyo MX on January 8. Ani-One Asia streamed the anime in India.

Yuka Yamada (Slow Loop, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, Asteroid in Love) replaced Kazuyuki Fudeyasu to oversee the series scripts. MindaRyn performed the opening theme song "Way to go," and Azusa Tadokoro performed the ending theme song "Drum-Shiki Tansaki" (Drum-Ceremony Probe).

The first anime premiered in Japan in October 2020. Ani-One Asia streamed the anime in India as it aired in Japan. Netflix began streaming the anime in March 2021.

Roy began serializing the story on the "Shōsetsuka ni Narō" (Let's Become Novelists) website in 2014, before ending it and launching a new version of the story in 2015. The newer serialization is ongoing. J-Novel Club is publishing the novels digitally in English.

Ranran launched a manga adaptation of the novels in Square Enix's Manga Up! app in November 2017. Square Enix Manga & Books is releasing the manga in English.

Ani-One Asia streamed In Another World With My Smartphone 2 in India as it aired in Japan. The anime premiered on April 3, and Crunchyroll is also streaming the series with subtitles.

The second season features a new staff and animation studio. Yoshiaki Iwasaki (Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?, Love Hina) directed the anime at J.C. Staff. Deko Akao (Komi Can't Communicate, Snow White with the Red Hair) handled series composition. Chinatsu Kameyama (Kemono Michi: Rise Up) served as character designer and chief animation director. Eiji Iwase (No Game, No Life) was the art director. Eiko Nishi (Tokyo Ghoul:re) was in charge of color design. Yutaka Kurosawa (Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma) was the director of photography. Ayumi Yamagishi (REAL-T) was the editor. Kei Yoshikawa (Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, Love of Kill) and Kōhei Yamada composed the music at Pony Canyon. Takumi Itō (Let's Make a Mug Too) directed the sound. Seven-member unit Gemstone7 performed the opening theme song "Real Diamond."

The first season premiered in July 2017 and aired for 12 episodes. Ani-One Asia also streamed the first season in India.
