Anime Limited is listing the three Patlabor cinema films as new Collector's Blu-rays on its AllTheAnime website. The first two films, 1989's Patlabor: The Movie and 1993's Patlabor 2: The Movie, were directed by Mamoru Oshii. The third film, Patlabor WXIII, was released in 2001 and directed by Fumihiko Takayama. The release dates for all three Blu-rays are given as January 29 on the AllTheAnime website.

Each Blu-ray Collector's Edition will contain a 36-page booklet containing commentaries on the films.

AllTheAnime summarises Patlabor: The Movie as follows.

"When Patlabor cops Noah Izumi and Azuma Shinohara investigate an unexplained wave of rogue Labors rampaging across the city, they uncover a sinister revenge plot to infect Tokyo's population of 8,000 Labors with the deadly BABEL virus. With the future of the city hanging in the balance and a typhoon poised to trigger the devastation, Noah, Azuma, and their teammates must destroy the source of the virus - the giant Babylon Project tower in Tokyo Bay - in a battle to the finish."

Patlabor 2: The Movie is summarised as follows:

"Tokyo, rush hour: the dead of winter. A terror strike from the air shatters the Bay Bridge. When news footage shows an unidentified F-16 fighter jet in the vicinity, the investigation takes a darker turn, as the cops of the Second Unit begin to trace the outlines of the shadowy military and political coalition behind the incident. But the conspiracy itself is out of control, and what began as a gesture is becoming a game where the peace, the freedom, and the very lives of the people of Tokyo are at stake."

Patlabor WXIII is summarised as follows:

"When a mysterious series of deadly attacks targets Labor operators across Tokyo's harbour region, the job goes to “conventional” detectives Hata and Kusumi. After all, just because it looks like a giant robot created crime doesn't mean that it is a giant robot-created crime, and deep inside a web of half-truths and government cover-ups, the detectives uncover a secret biological weapons project called WXIII. But while this secret may have been buried, it's still very much alive."
