WORLD CHAMPION YASUTOKO BROTHERS SKATE INTO VIZ BOOTH (#3231) AT AMERICA'S LARGEST COMIC BOOK AND POP CULTURE CONVENTION

VIZ Announces Schedule of Events at San Diego's Comic-Con International

San Francisco, CA (July 16, 2003) - VIZ, LLC, the leading publisher of manga (Japanese comics) for English speaking audiences (http://www.Viz.com), announced today that the Yasutoko Brothers of Osaka, Japan?ranked number one and number two in the world as the top aggressive inline skaters?will be at VIZ's booth (# 3231) to sign autographs for two days during Comic-Con International in San Diego.

In addition, VIZ and the Yasutoko Brothers will announce a marketing partnership for 2003-04 on Friday, July 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Comic-Con, during a media reception in Room 33A. During the 2003-04 ASA Pro Tour (Aggressive Skaters Association), the Yasutoko Brothers will partner with VIZ by featuring the SHONEN JUMP logo on their helmets and skating apparel, and will make special appearances throughout the year.

Eito, 19, and Takeshi, 16, have finished first and second in the world respectively in overall point standings for the past three years. At the recent Global X Games in San Antonio it was all "Japanese Air Force" as Takeshi and Eito finished 1st and 2nd respectively, giving Japan the team championship.

The Yasutoko Brothers will be on hand at VIZ booth # 3231 on Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to meet fans and sign autographs.
Comic-Con International is America's largest comic book and pop culture convention. Hundreds of companies will be showcasing new comics, anime, arts, events and appearances during the four-day event, July 17 through July 20 at the San Diego Convention Center.

In addition to the Yasutoko Brothers, VIZ's Comic-Con booth schedule includes a variety of Japanese-themed events throughout the four days, including:

Hard Rock Café Hosts Inuyasha
San Diego's Hard Rock Café will host an exclusive screening of never-before-seen episodes of Inuyasha on Thursday night, July 17, from 11 p.m.-2 a.m. Stop by the VIZ booth for more information.

Sumo Wrestling
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to put on an oversized sumo wrestling outfit and compete against their friends as they slam into each other trying to knock their opponent out of the ring!

Ninja Demonstrations
Ninja experts in their outfits will be at the booth to perform classic ninja moves and showcase their talents throughout the event. The ninjas will also be roaming the convention center greeting attendees.

Candy Sampling
A variety of licensed candies, featuring characters from your favorite manga will be given away.

Water Tattoos
Have your favorite SHONEN JUMP character 'temporarily' tattooed on your body.

ANIMERICA
Animerica Magazine, winner of the SPJA Award for "Best Anime Publication" nine years in a row (1993-2002), will also be on hand at VIZ's booth to give convention attendees the opportunity to meet the ANIMERICA staff and receive a free T-shirt for subscribing to the publication.
