CPM's The Boy Who Wanted to be a Bear at MoMA

CENTRAL PARK MEDIA'S THE BOY WHO WANTED TO BE A BEAR TO BE SCREENED AT MOMA


New York, NY (February 3, 2005) – The animated classic The Boy Who Wanted to Be a Bear, soon to be released on DVD by Central Park Media, will be screened at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City on Sunday, February 6, 2005 at 11:30 am EST as part of Ford Family Programs at MoMA's Watch This! Films for Tweens series.

Admission to the film's screening is free for children ages eleven to fourteen with adult companions. For those unable to attend the screening, Central Park Media will be releasing this captivating film as a Collector's Series DVD in English and French with English subtitles priced at $29.95 SRP and as an English only DVD priced at $19.95 SRP on Tuesday, February 8, 2005.

Directed by Jannik Hastrup (Circleen: City Mice), music by Bruno Coulais (Winged Migration) and animation production by Les Armateurs (The Triplets of Belleville).

A mother bear's cub dies in the Arctic wild, and her mate steals a human boy to be their son. The mother bear loves the child more with each passing day, and he grows as wild and free as the strongest bear. When the boy's human father arrives to reclaim his son, the child must choose his destiny. Can he return to the life of humankind, or will his heart forever be the heart of a beast?
