ADV Announces October 10 Releases

HOUSTON, September 6, 2006—ADV Films, the number one producer-distributor of anime outside of Japan, is pleased to announce the release of three exciting titles, including the Get Backers Season One Thin-Pack, Farscape Starburst Edition 4.3, and the final volume of Vermilion Pleasure Night. All three titles are set to hit the streets on October 10!

GET BACKERS SEASON ONE THIN-PACK

“Stylishly Cool And Action-Packed Anime… A Must-See.” – Beckett Anime

ADV is proud to bring you the Get Backers Season One Thin-Pack, containing 25 action-packed episodes on October 10.. Don't miss out on what Anime Advanced calls “a great series… the perfect balance of storyline, characters, and dialogue.”

Get Backers, animated by the famous Studio DEEN (Jing – King of Bandits), is the story of Ginji Amano and Ban Midou, two chronically broke but supernaturally empowered youths who run a “recovery service.” Their motto? “If it was taken, get it back.”

Synopsis: Everyone knows the feeling. You come home and find your home broken into. Your possessions thrown around. Dresser drawers are ransacked. Everything you own has the unmistakable feel of a stranger's fingers on them. The only thing worse than that is what isn't there: the things that once belonged to you that have been taken by creeps. But now is not the time to despair. There's no time for anger. There's only time to call Ban and Ginji, the Get Backers! No one will be refused. (At least not until that huge bar tab they've run up gets paid off!) Prepare to meet your new heroes. The guys who will restore order where there is only chaos and justice where crime has run free. The dudes who will bring that cute stuffed animal back to its rightful owner. They're the Get Backers. They're one phone call away and they're ready to take your case!

Get Backers Season One Thin-Pack (SRP $59.98 DVD) is a Thin-Pack DVD-only release including all 25 episodes from the first season, presented in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles.

Farscape also received the Saturn Award for Best Syndicated/Cable Series three years in a row (2001, 2002, 2003).

Synopsis: "I've made enemies... powerful, dangerous." For four years, astronaut John Crichton (Ben Browder, Stargate SG-1) has been lost somewhere in the universe, doing whatever it takes to stay alive. He's lived onboard a massive, living ship named Moya together with a group of escaped alien prisoners who have become his friends. He's even met the love of his live… a beautiful renegade commando named Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black, Stargate SG-1). Now, Crichton and his friends are caught squarely in the maelstrom of an intergalactic conflict between the Peacekeeper and the Scarrans -- monstrous alien races hell-bent to use wormhole technology to dominate the universe. But Crichton is determined to end this battle… once and for all.
