Gen Con So Cal Slated to be the West Coast Gaming Event of 2006

ANAHEIM, CA. (October 24, 2006) Fans of all ages interested in gaming,
fantasy and science fiction are gearing up for the fourth annual Gen
Con So
Cal Convention set for November 16-19 at the Anaheim Convention Center
in
California. For any one into games, whether electronic, interactive,
tabletop or role-playing Gen Con is the place where enthusiasts come
together with some of the industries best and brightest designers,
manufacturers and distributors to share in everything gaming!

³Gen Con So Cal has by all measures been a success the past three
years.
Attendance has beaten our expectations and exhibitors enthusiastically
participate,² said Peter Adkison, CEO of Gen Con LLC. ³This year we
anticipate an even better show, with more attendees, more exhibitors,
events
and show highlights unmatched on the West Coast. We look forward to
making
Gen Con So Cal a great event especially for all those game lovers
living on
the West Coast.²

Gen Con LLC¹s flagship show, Gen Con Indy (Indianapolis), is North
America¹s
largest hobby gaming convention, which has been successfully held for
the
last 39 years in the Midwest. In 2003, the company launched a Gen Con
show
for the West Coast, creating Gen Con So Cal to reach a broader audience
and
build upon the popularity of Gen Con Indy.

At Gen Con So Cal gaming enthusiasts don¹t simply ³walk the show² they
can
actually participate in over a thousand gaming events. These events
include
video games, interactive game play, hobby-related events, and computer
gaming. Attendees also join in card games, board games, role-playing
games,
live-action role-playing games, seminars and workshops ranging in
topics
from how to develop games to how to paint miniatures.

The four-day event will feature expanded electronic gaming and anime
areas,
events such as Upper Deck Entertainment¹s$1,000,000 Pro Circuit
featuring
the Marvel Trading Card Game Vs system and Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments, Magic:
the
Gathering Trading Card Game tournaments, True Dungeon, a life-size
dungeon
adventure, Dungeons and Dragons role-playing adventures, a collectible
auction. a costume contest, and an area for kids, called Training
Grounds to
name just a few.


SAMPLING OF SHOW HIGHLIGHTS AND EVENTS

Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) offers the ultimate gaming experience
with
demos of the hottest trading card games in the industry like the
award-winning Vs. System, QuickStrike game engine and the new and
highly-anticipated World of Warcraft.

World of Warcraft TCG, learn to play. No experience or cards required
to
play in this event! Emphasis is on learning the game and judges will be
available to help with instructions. Prizes will be given to all
participants! Starter deck included.

Wizards of the Coast has plenty to offer in terms of play including the
new
collectible miniatures game, Dreamblade and classics like Magic,
Dungeons
and Dragons, Axis and Allies, and Star Wars miniatures.

Dreamblade- Starting on Saturday, Nov.18. bring your best warband to
Hall D,
and enter the 10K Tournament‹two days of intense competition with top
contenders winning $10,000 in cash, plus other prizes. On Sunday, the
19th,
you can take a shot at $1,000 in cash prizes in the 1K Tournament.

The Spoils Tournament Card Game happens all weekend and win great
prizes:
25 iPods, 7 DS Lites, 2 Xbox360¹s 2 Gaming laptops, and $10,000 cash.

Warmachine & Hordes tournaments --with the release of Superiority this
year,
there are more ways than ever to pulverize your opponents.

True Dungeon! Is incredible, players experience a Dungeons & Dragons
adventure within a life-size, walk-through dungeon environment. They
will
then enter a full-size dungeon where they get to experience challenging
combat, perplexing puzzles and quintessential D&D moments (like
searching
for secret doors or disarming a trap).

Lazer Tag! For the first time, we¹re bringing a large scale Lazer Tag
arena
to Gen Con! Adventure Sports HQ is bringing their top-of-the-line
professional Lazer Taggers. With over 10,000 sq. ft. of arena, you
are
bound to have a great time!

Segway Challenge - Ride a Segway, a two-wheeled, self-balancing
scooter,
through an obstacle course and try to get the highest score! Top times
win
prizes! You know you've always wanted to try one.

E-game Programming
Keep checking back as we¹re adding some amazing e-game programming,
including Guitar Hero 2, Halo tournaments and hand-held gaming
tournaments

Training Grounds is designed to introduce kids ages 4-12 to the gaming
world
and all its possibilities.

Hall Costume Contest this year the costume contest takes place at the
Œcon¹.
Judges will be wondering the show awarding those with the most
creative; the
best dressed the hottest, coolest costumes around.

Gen Con Dance Join us Saturday, Nov 18 at 10pm at the Marriott for the
Gen
Con Dance! FREE to all attendees with a Gen Con So Cal Badge.

Friday Night Live: Comedy Music Showcase. This event will be hosted by
the
Great Luke Ski and features current acts of ³The Dr. Demento Show².
Friday
Night Live will be at the Marriott Hotel, Salon F at 8pm. It¹s FREE to
all
attendees with a Gen Con So Cal badge.

³Mastering the Art of Contact Juggling² hosted by Thomas Wood master
juggler, fire eater and all around performer with over 15 years
experience.
³Character Creation with Mallory & McCall² Make your characters come
alive,
learn to transform yourself or build on who you already are.

Gaming Industry Insiders - Great topics are being covered at seminars
being
offered by Industry favorites such as Keith Baker, James Wyatt, Luke
Crane,
Mike Selinker, Sherry Yeary, Ben Mandall, Jeff Neil Bellinger, Jack
Emmert
and more. New to this year -- a new format - roundtable discussions,
where
the atmosphere is more intimate, the conversation more frank and
participation required.

Gen Con So Cal is open to the public Thursday, November 16 through
Sunday,
November 19. Exhibit Hall hours are: Thursday - Saturday 10 am- 6 pm
and
Sunday 10 am - 4 pm with gaming events offered 24 hours a day.

Attendees must purchase a badge to gain entrance to the show. On-site
badge
registration starts at 9 am on Thursday, November 16. A four-day badge
is
$65 on site. A one-day badge is $35 on site. Children 8 and under are

In 2007, Gen Con So Cal will move to the Los Angeles Convention Center.

move will better serve the entertainment industry, so prevalent in the
