METROCON 5: Florida's Largest Anime Convention
July 6-8, 2007

TAMPA BAY, FL, May 16, 2007 – All two hundred VIP tickets are officially sold out for METROCON 5 – Florida's Largest Anime Convention. The event's fifth year is scheduled to take place on the weekend of July 6 - 8, 2007, at the Tampa Convention Center, Tampa, FL, and promises to be the biggest and best METROCON yet.

The participating hotel, the brand new Embassy Suites connected across the street via sky bridge to Tampa Convention Center, is also now sold out for the entire weekend. There are many hotels within walking distance in downtown Tampa, though, that currently have vacancies and offer reasonable rates.

METROCON is a weekend-long celebration of the numerous facets of Japanese popular entertainment – from anime (Japanese animation), manga (Japanese comics), J-pop and J-rock (Japanese pop and rock music, performed by “idols”) to cosplay (costume design and performance) and video games.
