Steve Conte to Appear in Concert at SugoiCon

Ft. Mitchell, KY (November 3, 2007) — Sugoi-Con is thrilled to announce the addition of singer/guitarist Steve Conte to its 2007 guest list. Conte will be performing Friday night, November 16, in concert at the convention, and he will feature songs from his anime collaborations with composer Yoko Kanno ("Living Inside the Shell", "Stray", "Call Me Call Me", "Diggin'") as well as his own material.

In addition to his work with Yoko Kanno and his studio projects, Steve Conte has performed with a variety of artists, including Maaya Sakamoto, Maceo Parker, and Billy Squier, and recently joined the revamped lineup of legendary glam-rock pioneers the New York Dolls (Someday It Will Please Us to Remember Even This). Steve has also released several albums with his brother, John, as part of The Contes, Crown Jewels, and Company of Wolves.

Steve Conte joins a lineup of guests for Sugoi-Con which includes ADV director/voice actor Christopher Ayres (Nerima Daikon Brothers, Xenosaga) and voice actors Greg Ayres (Beck, Nerima Daikon Brothers), Brittney Karbowski (Red Garden, Le Chevalier D'Eon), Carli Mosier (Nerima Daikon Brothers), and Hannah Alcorn (The Wallflower). Also attending are webcomics creators Dan Hess (Angel Moxie, Realms of Ishikaze), James Hatton (In His Likeness) and Jennie Breeden (The Devil's Panties), and artists Bob & Emily Dejesus and Doug Smith (Kintaro Oe in Goldenboy).

As last year, the convention will feature a concert from Voices For, a benefit project produced by Jan Scott-Frazier that brings together voice acting talents to cover songs around a central theme, with proceeds donated to charities including C.A.R.E. and Doctors Without Borders.

Sugoi-Con will be held at the Drawbridge Inn, Ft. Mitchell, KY, November 16-18, 2007. Sugoi-Con is in its eighth year of public operation as Greater Cincinnati's premier anime convention. For more information about the convention, please visit www.Sugoi-Con.org.
