Taking place on a Saturday night at one of London's most stylish bars, WOTA London is a new club night by anime fans, for anime fans, mixing anime, otagei and J-pop culture.
Soho's Freedom Bar will play host to 5 hours of the best anime and game music Japan has to offer. DJs include Akihabara club organiser DJ Piloru, and J-Pop Go! founder DJ Genkiboi.
Visual DJ Namimono will also be on hand to give an amazing live anime VJ set!
Cosplay is encouraged but not compulsory. Dances such as 'Hare Hare Yukai' and 'Ota-gei' are also welcome!

What is Wota and Otagei?

'Wota' is a short version of the word 'otaku', often used by Japanese anime fans. 'Otagei' refers to the kind of audience-participation dances popular in Japan. You can often see otagei performed at concerts by seiyuu (voice actresses) and pop groups such as Morning Musume.

WOTA London is organised in association with Tokyo Toys, the Grand Cosplay Ball and Goldsmiths Anime and Manga Society.
