First up is Zombie Hunter Rika, “as much a stab at silly comedy as it is an Asian zombie splatter flick” (DreadCentral.com). Next up is Legends of the Dark Kings Complete Collection, the latest anime to round out the Fist of the North Star mythos.
Zombie Hunter Rika is the third installment of the Nihombie series, which includes Attack Girls' Swim Team (available now) and Zombie Self-Defense Force (coming October 13 from Switchblade Pictures). “If you love obscure Japanese horror flicks that are as funny as they are horrific, then this one is for you” (MovieCynics.com).
SYNOPSIS: When typical Japanese high school student Rika skips school to visit her grandfather, she fails to take into account the fact that his remote village is infested with the living dead. What happens next isn't pretty, but fortunately, Grandpa Ryuhei just happens to be the greatest surgeon ever! Picking up what's left of Rika, he dusts her off and rebuilds her, better than she was, into the ultimate zombie fighter! Now, together with her friends Takashi and Yuji, Rika must take on the monstrous master of carnivorous cadavers: the grand-high lowest of the low, Zombie Boss Glorian!
