Jpop Supergroup AKB48 Set to Release Latest Album in the US
Los Angeles, CA- June 24, 2010- AKB48 has arrived in America! This 48 all girl supergroup is breaking all boundaries on their arrival into California. Reaching new levels of popularity in their home country of Japan, AKB48 is expanding globally.
Their current album Kamikyokutachi is charting on both the album and singles charts in Japan. Their highly anticipated North American release and their performance at the Anime Expo Convention in Los Angeles is sure to make July a month to remember.
Kamikyokutachi contains 16 tracks, which many have also become high charting singles, and a DVD with 3 choreographed music videos in multi-angle format so that fans can learn and recreate their dance moves.
AKB48 is a all-female Japanese Idol Group broken down into three teams of 16 better known as Teams A, K and B. The letters AKB is an acronym for the main electronics destination within Tokyo, Akihabara. Unlike normal pop groups, AKB48 perform on a daily basis at their own theatre in Akihabara. Not all 3 teams perform at the same time; rather the teams intermix between performances. Along with their catchy tunes, anybody who watches AKB48 live can expect a great show as each song has their own choreographed routine.
Taking the world by storm, AKB48 has reached the point of worldwide recognition. Performing live at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, AKB48 is a Guest of Honor at this year's Anime Expo.
