Saboten Con to host a steampunk themed ball and other programming events
Phoenix, ARIZONA (July 19th, 2011) - Saboten Con has announced a few of their much-anticipated programming events for this year. The events include The Sky Castle Ball, Hetalia Axis Tea Party, At Your Service Maid & Butler Cafe, and Saboten Con 2011 Masquerade.
The Sky Castle Ball is the newest addition to the Saboten Con special events list. It is a steampunk ball themed after the amazing movies, animations, and art from Hayao Miyazaki. Some of Hayao Miyazaki's popular works include "Castle in the Sky" which the ball is named after, "Princess Mononoke", "Spirited Away", and "Ponyo".
Find your favorite Miyazaki character and dress them as steampunk and show off your creation at the Sky Castle Ball. The ball will include live DJs, catered food and drinks, decorations, prizes, and at the end of the night we will be crowning the King and Queen of the ball. The Sky Castle Ball is a ticketed event so make sure to purchase a ticket at the convention or online before they sell out.
The Axis Powers are conquering Arizona at Saboten Con 2011! Team Kissu invites you to the Hetalia Axis Tea party. Guests can enjoy sweets and some entertainment with the cast of Hetalia. They can also enter in the raffle for fun prizes and join in on the character auction for the chance to spend some quality time with their favorite character. The Hetalia Axis Tea is a ticketed event. Tickets are sold in three one-hour blocks. Make sure to purchase a ticket at the convention or online before they sell out.
The maids and butlers of At Your Service Cafe eagerly await your visit this year at Saboten Con 2011. Step into the cafe and enter a world where you are treated as the master of the house by cute girls in maid outfits and dashing butlers who wish to serve their princesses. There will be delicious treats hand-decorated by the staff just for you. Also there will be prizes to be won by playing games. Most of all see the maids and butlers perform dances and sing songs from your favorite Anime and J-pop groups. At Your Service Maid & Butler Cafe is a ticketed event. Tickets are sold in three one-hour blocks. Remember to purchase a ticket at the convention or online before they sell out.
Interested in seeing amazing cosplayers perform skits or show off their costumes on stage? Come to the masquerade and see them compete for top honors, as some of the best costumes in the state will be on display at this year's masquerade.
On the other hand, think you have what it takes to win the Masquerade? Registration for this year's masquerade will open on August 1st 2011. General competition rules are posted on the Saboten Con website. This event is free with a paid Saboten Con badge.
