Otakon is Proud to Announce Illustrator Gashicon of Hangry&Angry
Baltimore, MD (May 31, 2012) – We are proud to announce that illustrator GASHICON of HANGRY&ANGRY is coming to Otakon 2012!
In 2004, GASHICON entered the graphics production company of S-INC – “INCS.”
GASHICON became the person in charge for the graphic design of the fashion brand
h.NAOTO. In 2005, the “gro-kawa” (grotesque-cute) character brand HANGRY&ANGRY
produced by h.NAOTO was started. As the illustrator GASHICON, she is in charge of
the production of HANGRY&ANGRY's characters and comics. The HANGRY&ANGRY
comics became a serial comic strip appearing in magazines such as KERA and CURE.
(They are still published monthly in CURE magazines.)
In 2008, the HANGRY&ANGRY Osaka store, Ura-Harajuku, opened and the rock character unit “HANGRY&ANGRY FUTURE” was formed, consisting of former MORNING MUSUME members Hitomi Yoshizawa and Rika Ishikawa. The unit released their mini album “KISS ME KILL ME” in the same year.
In 2009, GASHICON attended the annual convention Pacific Media Expo held in Los Angeles. The collaborative product collection for game maker TAITO's crane game machines was introduced. HANGRY&ANGRY FUTURE's first album “SADISTIC DANCE” was released, and the unit toured Europe, America, Taiwan, and also throughout Japan.
There are four parts to the grand story of HANGRY&ANGRY.

Up till 2009 the story is set in the Present – HANGRY&ANGRY PRESENT.
The synopsis of the story is:
On the Hill of Killme, there is the graveyard for plush dolls. It is the hellish resting place
for tragic, miserable, dirty plush dolls thrown away by selfish humans.
The Castle of Vice is occupied by Lord Cut and Duke Stitch (Cut & Stitch). Every night, they collect plush dolls from the Hill of Killme, and with the reconstructive surgeries of the devil, they revive the dolls as brutal destructive weapons.

Whenever HANGRY is bullied, she accumulates negative energy, and when the negative energy exceeds the limiter, there will be a nuclear explosion powerful enough to destroy the Earth in an instant… ANGRY is fated with the role of the bully, paired up with HANGRY, who cannot escape the bullying! What will happen to the crisis of the Earth's destruction!?
Otakon 2012 will be held July 27 – 29 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
