Sunnycon 2013 Launch

Preparations for SunnyCon 2013 are well underway with the site re-launched and ready to go. SunnyCon is an anime and Japanese culture convention held in Sunderland and it quickly established itself as the largest convention in the north east by attracting over 900 visitors in the 2012 event. With the new venue of the event being announced as the Seaburn Centre and the dates set for March 23rd-24th 2013 fans have been abuzz with how they are going to top last year's amazing event and special guests Chris Sabat and Veronica Taylor.

For 2013 SunnyCon have done it again already announcing world famous anime voice actor Vic Mignogna and international cosplay superstar Ginny McQueen. Vic is probably the most well-known voice actor in the world famous with many main roles in major anime shows not forgetting his work on games and his musical career. Ginny is a world famous cosplayer with a huge fan base with over 25000 followers on Facebook alone. More guests and events are due to be announced leading up to the event but a huge part of any anime convention is the cosplay part and SunnyCon has announced that they will be offering up an unbelievable £2000 prize for the winner in 2013, the biggest cash amount for a cosplay contest in Europe this will attract the countries best cosplayers.

These announcements are just the beginning and more guests and events are to be announced running up to the event. Tickets have now gone on sale with 3 types this year under 13's £10, over 13's general entry £25 and VIP tickets £30. Under 13's and over 13's are general entry and permit you to the weekend full of events but VIP gets you in 1 hour early, a free t-shirt, entry into a draw for a prize pack and half priced entry into the evening event.

The north easts biggest anime convention is just getting bigger and Sunderland will expect another influx of colourful costumed geeks from around the UK to descend on Seaburn in March.
