Second Annual Matsuri

Baltimore, MD (July 20, 2012) – Otakorp will once again be hosting a Thursday Matsuri before Otakon free to public. Come out to experience it once again!

Location: 1st Mariner Arena Parking lot on Hopkins place
Time: Thursday July 26 th from 12pm to 7pm
Things to do: Music! Games! Food!

MUSIC
Chin Hamaya Culture Center Taiko Drum act - a traditional Okinawan taiko drum group. They utilize traditional Japanese drums and other instruments, along with their dragon dancing. Think Chinese dragon dance, with several people underneath the dragon. Space will be needed for them to perform in, as well as the dragon to move around in.
DJ Cutman - a video game/chiptune/dubstep based DJ, spinning tracks based on video games songs and other popular pop/rock/techno songs, blended into one sound.
Shinsei - a Japanese styled Visual Kei(think glam/goth rock) rock group, very stylized, somewhat heavy metal-esque.
Hsu-nami - traditional Chinese/rock blend group. The band uses a traditional Chinese violin, called an erhu, and mixes rock and roll with this instrument to make a unique blend of traditional Asian sound and hard rock.

GAMES
Local Anime Clubs and the Japanese Embassy will be hosting a variety of fun festival games so be sure to test your skills!

FOOD
Local food trucks and restaurants will be available for festival treat goodness! You can find out more information about the Matsuri, including music act times at: www.otakon.com/events_matsuri.asp
