Crispin Freeman to attend Anime Matsuri as Featured Guest

Houston, TX, November 12th, 2014 – Voice Actor Crispin Freeman will attend Anime Matsuri, one of the ten largest anime conventions in the United States, as a featured guest on April 3rd-5th, 2015 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Mr. Freeman will host his popular live Voice Acting Workshop and panel over Animation Mythology at the convention.

Crispin Freeman has been portraying characters in animation and video games since 1997 as a voice actor, director, and script adaptor. He is most known for his voice work in Fate/Zero, Hellsing, Howl's Moving Castle, Digimon: Data Squad, Naruto, Resident Evil: Degeneration, and the Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings video games.

Mr. Freeman's live Voice Acting Workshop will include a humorous look at what makes good and bad dubs in anime, and an invitation for volunteers from the audience to try their hand at voice acting on stage. Crispin brings his own ProTools recording system with him to provide con goers with an experience that usually cannot be duplicated outside of a professional studio.

Crispin's Animation Mythology panel will explore the journeys a hero takes in both American and Japanese animation. The way in which different religions and mythological traditions of each culture shape the cosmology of their stories and how these dictate the hero's journey will be discussed.

Anime Matsuri is an annual anime, Japanese culture and related arts convention based in Houston, Texas. We strive to bring the latest and greatest from Japan's catwalks, anime studios, and concert stages to our own backyard here in the United States. Anime Matsuri's inaugural event began in 2007. Since then, the convention has grown to over 19,000 unique attendees. With so many in attendance, we have recently made the George R. Brown Convention Center our permanent home. Here we will host our three day “matsuri,” or “festival,” on April 3-5th, 2015.
