SaikouCon 2016 Announces More Guests for 2016 Show

SaikouCon 2016 Bringing Back More Favorites and Adding New Faces to 2016 Show

More Guests Announced Soon! Convention has some surprises in store in the coming months

3/10/16 Lake Harmony, PA – SaikouCon, which means "best convention", is the large scale, annual anime convention of the Pocono Mountains. Boasting a dedicated staff of longtime Japanese anime and manga fans, SaikouCon is excited to be the only large scale annual convention dedicated exclusively to anime, manga, and Japanese culture and pop culture in this area of Northeast Pennsylvania. The convention grew out of, soon to be relaunched, web magazine Anime Ate My Brain Magazine; the sibling to music focused web magazine, Tastes Like Rock! Music Magazine. Both journalistic endeavors fall under the publishing wing of Nerdy Rock 'n Roller Productions.

The convention promises to remain very hands on and attendee friendly every year, while also maintaining a safe atmosphere for attendees to enjoy the convention to their carefree fullest. As always, Cosplay =/= Consent is a very important issue to the staff of SaikouCon, and the same rules and regulations that made SaikouCon 2013, 2014, and 2015 safe havens for cosplayers will be enforced just as strictly at SaikouCon 2016. SaikouCon 2016 will feature many diverse and entertaining panels, workshops, activities, events, screenings, gaming tournaments, and much more!

SaikouCon has a few more returning guests that have proven to be fan favorites each year they have guested at the convention, returning as Featured Guests are Cosplay Burlesque (www.cosplayburlesque.com/i>) with perhaps their hottest performance at SaikouCon yet! Also returning as a Featured Guest is The Gamer's Edge Comics and Gaming (www.facebook.com/TheGamersEdgeStroudsburg) to host the tabletop gaming room with some very interesting plans in the works for SaikouCon with another Featured Guest that will be announced before March turns to April... keep an eye out!
There are some new additions to this year's con as well, joining the convention as Special Guests are Cloudsofsand Cosplay (www.facebook.com/cloudscosplay) and celsius Cosplay (www.facebook.com/celsius.cosplay)! Cloudsofsand is a 10 year cosplay veteran and will be presenting SaikouCon's first AMV contest! Keep an eye out for when submissions will be accepted by Cloudsofsand! More guest announcements coming over the next couple of weeks! And this is actually the second time that celsius has been a part of SaikouCon, in 2014 she acted as the MC for our Charity Auction, which she will be doing once more as well as a few featured panels. We're excited to have both 10 year+ cosplay veterans join us as Special Guests for SaikouCon 2016!

Over the remainder of March and then into April SaikouCon will be making more Guest of Honor, Musical Guest, Featured Guest, and maybe some more Special Guest announcements! Keep checking SaikouCon's website and social media profiles regularly for those announcements, we all know the convention can't keep secrets and announces new guests as soon as the con chair can!

To Pre-Register for SaikouCon 2016 badges visit www.saikoucon.com/guest-registration.html and make sure to note the returning designations for Teen and Adult badges to attend the convention, the new designations do away with the need for parental consent forms for SaikouCon guests age 13-17, attendees 12 and under still need to be accompanied by a chaperone age 18 or older at all times and children 10 and under enter free of charge! While family friendly, SaikouCon is largely PG-13 so tweens and little ones need accompaniment. Don't forget to look into SaikouCon's Group Rates. To book a room for SaikouCon 2016, call Split Rock Resort, SaikouCon's new home located at 100 Moseywood Road, Lake Harmony, PA 18624, at (888) 802-2348 and request a room in the SaikouCon block of rooms for the discounted rate! Split Rock is offering SaikouCon attendees a block of 50 rooms (to start, if we sell out before the discount deadline, the resort will open more rooms to SaikouCon attendees at the discounted rate) available until July 1, 2016 or until the block is booked solid. Once the July 1 deadline hits, rooms will only be available at Split Rock on an as available basis and will not be discounted; discount extension is at the discretion of Split Rock Resort and not SaikouCon or its organizers.

The convention will always feature some of the best live entertainment themed to Japanese culture and pop culture, as well as the best in J-Rock, J-Pop, and nerd/geek culture musical acts from all over the US and beyond.

All of this plus top creators, writers, artists, distributors, industry insiders, English dub and original Japanese voice talent, some of the best cosplay talent, shows, masquerades; and so much more!
