Shuto Con Celebrates its 6th Annual Anime Convention
Lansing, Mich., Mar. 7th - Going on its 6th year, Shuto Con is ramping up to be the biggest convention yet.
In less than two weeks Shuto Con, Lansing's annual anime and cosplay convention, is once again using the entire Lansing Center and Radisson Hotel Lansing during the weekend of Mar. 18 to 20, for what is planned to be one of the Lansing Center's biggest events of the year!
"This year we are planning for at least 7,000 attendees" said convention Chairwoman Stefanie Shall. "Based on our numbers from previous years, including our 2015 attendance of 6263 paid attendees, I have a feeling that this year will be even larger and better than before!"
Attendees can look forward to 24 hours worth of programming/panels, a large exhibit hall full of amazingly talented Artists from around the Nation as well as over a dozen Dealers specializing in imported bootleg-free Japanese merchandise, Voice Actor guests from both Dallas and Los Angeles, a large cosplay competition, live Bands including Freezepop who you may have heard on the Rockband game series, and so much more.
Among the events planned during the weekend, Shuto Con will also be collecting donations for their 2016 charity, the United Way of Genesee County to help raise money for the Flint Water Fund. Cash donations will be collected at Registration, as well as during various events throughout the convention. "Every year we try to focus on a local charity, and while Flint may not be exactly 'local' to Lansing, we felt that we wanted to try to help the United Way there as much as we possibly can since many of our attendees are from the Flint/Detroit area" said Shall.
