Crunchyroll Named Title Sponsor of Anime Frontier

World's Largest Anime Streaming Portal to Power
New Japanese Pop Culture Event in Texas

Fort Worth, TX (January 23, 2020) - Anime Frontier, the new Japanese pop culture convention from the creators of Anime NYC, today announced global anime brand Crunchyroll will serve as the title sponsor of its inaugural event - May 8-10, 2020 in the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, TX. The newly rechristened “Anime Frontier Powered By Crunchyroll” will bring fans together with leading anime publishers and special guests from across America and Japan for the first time in Texas.

Anime Frontier Powered By Crunchyroll is a celebration of anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture with close ties to the creators and companies at the heart of Japanese entertainment, and Crunchyroll's title sponsorship is a tremendous symbol of Anime Frontier and Crunchyroll's dual commitment to delivering exceptional experiences, celebrities, and features to audiences in Texas.

Crunchyroll is the largest and most popular anime streaming brand on the planet, counting over 60 million registered users and over 2 million premium subscribers. It is home to current and beloved classic anime including My Hero Academia, Dr. Stone, Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan, Naruto, One Piece, Sword Art Online, and Dragon Ball Super. Fans can watch Crunchyroll titles professionally translated in multiple languages immediately after their Japanese broadcast via Crunchyroll.com, Crunchyroll's mobile app, game consoles, and set-top boxes in more than 200 countries and territories around the world.

“We're honored to work closely with Crunchyroll and connect them with their fans in Texas” said Peter Tatara, Show Director of Anime Frontier. “Texas is the second largest state in America and home to a tremendous number of anime fans, but there's not yet a hub that brings fans together with the anime industry. Anime Frontier's mission is to build that, and we're deeply proud to now do this together with Crunchyroll's monumental partnership.”

“We are committed to delighting anime fans around the world, and we're glad to be working with Anime Frontier to better serve the anime community in Texas,” said Mary Franklin, Head of Events at Crunchyroll. “The team behind Anime Frontier is responsible for well-run, authentic community events, and Crunchyroll will help make sure their new Texas event is a weekend anime fans will love!”

Beyond Crunchyroll, Anime Frontier is supported by Japanese entertainment brands including Aniplex of America Inc., Animate, GKIDS, HIDIVE, Kodansha Comics, Sentai Filmworks, SUNRISE, Vertical, Inc., and Viz Media. Its guests include voice actors Amanda Lee, Arryn Zech, Barbara Dunkelman, Kara Eberle, Max Mittelman, Ray Chase, Robbie Daymond, and Samantha Ireland, and celebrity cosplayer Vampy Bit Me. The convention will announce highly anticipated Japanese creators, voice actors, and concerts this spring.

Crunchyroll's title sponsorship of Anime Frontier follows its long-standing sponsorship of Anime Frontier's sister event, Anime NYC. Anime NYC Powered By Crunchyroll is the second largest Japanese pop culture convention in the US, home major guests and premieres, and expects over 50,000 unique attendees when it returns to the Javits Center in New York City this November. Anime Frontier Powered By Crunchyroll and Anime NYC Powered By Crunchyroll are both organized by LeftField Media, a professional event organizer focused on creating amazing pop culture experiences for fans across the USA. The LeftField team is composed of dedicated fans and industry professionals.

Anime Frontier Powered By Crunchyroll will take place in the Fort Worth Convention Center, a 300,000+ sq ft complex in the heart of downtown Fort Worth. A city that has preserved much of its frontier heritage, Fort Worth blends cosmopolitan energy with cowboy culture and proudly calls itself “Where The West Begins”. And part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Fort Worth is also within one of the largest metropolitan regions in the US - home to a population of over 8 million.

Anime Frontier weekend tickets are available now for only $45 for a limited time at AnimeFrontier.com, and fans looking to learn more can sign up for the Anime Frontier newsletter and follow the event on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
