Yousei Teikoku To Release “the age of villains” on March 25 — Their First New Album in 5 Years

Since entering the human world, Yousei Teikoku have continued to evolve their unique style of gothic rock/heavy metal, even gaining the ability to fuse metal and anime songs.

Details on Yousei Teikoku's new album “the age of villains,” which is scheduled to release on March 25, have been revealed.

Five years have passed since Yousei Teikoku released their previous album “SHADOW CORPS[e].” Since then, XiVa and ryöga have joined the band, and this has resulted in an album of even greater intensity and beauty.

All twelve of the songs on this album are brand new. In addition to music composed by Nanami, Gight, and the band's sound producer Tachibana (who has withdrawn from live performances), there are also songs by new members XiVa and ryöga. From the more classic Yousei Teikoku style to songs imbued with a new essence, it is an album jam-packed with variety.

Yousei Teikoku

With fewer and fewer humans believing in the existence of fairies, the Yousei Teikoku (“Fairy Empire”) continues to fall into ruin.

Seeking to use the power of music to remind humans of the existence of fairies and revive the Fairy Empire, Empress YUI and Takaha Tachibana established a 2-person unit called Yousei Teikoku Daisan Gungakutai (“Third Military Band of the Fairy Empire”) in Nagoya in 1997. After scouting out talent in the human world, they later added Nanami, Shiren, and Gight to their ranks.

Fusing rock and heavy metal with elements of classical and techno music, they have created a heavy, aggressive style of music. In addition to providing music for anime and games, they also hold regular ceremonies (concerts) for their subjects (fans).

In 2019, XiVa joined following the resignation of Shiren, and ryöga joined after Tachibana announced that he would withdraw from future live performances.

The Third Military Band of the Fairy Empire currently consists of Lifelong Dictator YUI, Corporals XiVa and ryöga, Warrant Officer Nanami, and Sergeant Gight.
