Animate USA is Holding a Touhou Project Promotional Event

A limited-time Touhou Project promotional event is being held at Animate USA!

From March 15th to April 18th, 2021, animate-exclusive Touhou Project merchandise will be available at multiple Kinokuniya locations in the US and on the Animate USA Online Shop.

These exclusive items feature the iconic Touhou characters dressed in retro Japanese fashion. The illustrations were done by Nogi Takayoshi, a popular artist with over 71,000 followers on Twitter. Acrylic stands, pencil cases, buttons, notebooks, and more featuring these hyper-detailed illustrations will be available during the event.

For every $15 spent on Touhou Project merchandise during the event, customers will receive a bonus illustrated card. Please note that customers cannot choose which design they will receive.

The Touhou Project franchise started in 1997 as a self-published shoot-em-up game made entirely by Jun'ya Ota, a.k.a. ZUN. The franchise has 17 main games, with the 18th planned for release this May. In 2010, an anime featuring animate's mascot Anime-Tencho and the Touhou Project characters was released.

Animate USA's Touhou Project promotional event will be taking place at the following Kinokuniya Bookstore locations:
Kinokuniya Chicago and Seattle

The event will be taking place on the Animate USA online store from March 15th to April 18th, 2021, and is scheduled to start in mid-March at the Kinokuniya Bookstore locations listed above. Please contact Kinokuniya for the exact in-store start date.
